Meet Our Teachers

Rebecca Rossman

Rebecca graduated Cum Laude from Monmouth College in 2010 with a B.A. in Physical Education. Previously, she worked for Knox County Child Advocacy Center, District 50 in Washington, IL and most recently Eureka District 140. Through previous employment and time spent volunteering on the ECNS board, she was able to see firsthand the impact and importance of social emotional growth in young children. She is excited to serve the Eureka community as director and teacher at ECNS and help develop lifelong learners. Rebecca resides in Eureka with her husband and three daughters; Skyler, Reese, and Kennedy. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, supporting her daughters in their extra-curricular activities, and playing with their dogs Gus and Zephyr. She is a sports enthusiast, who loves to travel and learn something new each day!

Melissa Schumacher

Melissa graduated from Greenville University (formerly Greenville College) in 1999 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She has over 20 years of experience working in early childhood and the majority of that time was teaching preschool. She also worked for two years in Eureka District 140.

Melissa is dedicated to serving the children of the Eureka community because she has always had a passion for working with and caring for children.

In her spare time, Melissa is an avid scrapbooker. She is a very proud Marine Mom and recently became a member of the Heart of Illinois Blue Star Mothers. If you ask her how her son is, be prepared for stories and photos. She loves to share! :) She also volunteers as an administrator of a support group for parents as their recruit goes through bootcamp. Melissa and her husband have lived in Eureka since 2006. Their son, Micah, is currently serving overseas. They enjoy being at home watching movies, eating ice-cream and popcorn. They would love to travel more in the near future.
